Our Addiction Medicine faculty provide specialized training for healthcare providers across Iowa, focusing on evidence-based approaches such as Medication for Addiction Treatment (MAT). Additionally, we offer expert consultation and management for complex addiction cases, aiming to enhance patient outcomes and support recovery throughout the state.

“To put an end to the opioid crisis, it absolutely has to be a team effort,” says Dr. Alison Lynch. “The more health care providers that have MAT in their toolkit and can work with community partners to provide support for individuals with addiction and other mental health issues, the more lives that will be saved.”
